Treasure Tomb Slots
There’s not much better than a good old, rootin’ tootin’, hell for leather adventure slot, you know? Few themes can rival those which pass on the picky particular and opt instead for a straight shooting, all or nothing slot fit for the most brazen daredevils among us.
Nothing screams all out adventure quite as loudly or clearly as a good old tomb raiding venture does it? From Indiana Jones to Lara Croft, there’s few bad ass figures within popular culture with the minerals necessary to enter the unknown after it’s lay perfectly dormant for thousands of years in search of treasure and wealth beyond their wildest dreams!
Of course, this premise has been covered many times over in film, it’s been covered many times over in literature and I feel it would be fair to say that its getting that way with slots games now too. Fewer concepts or story outlines lend themselves as vigorously and openly towards interactive video slots gaming as that of ancient tomb exploration – and that’s just a cold, hard fact of life.
So then, how do game developers manage to stay relevant and unique in the face of an industry where nothing is sacred and very, very few ideas are original? Well that would be a question for the developers themselves to answer, but seeing as none of them ever return our calls we’ll just have to try and answer it as best we can with the resources we have available to us.
The Presentation
Treasure Tomb was produced by enigmatic American company Habanero Gaming Systems - a group with any number of highly successful titles behind them and even more (we’re sure) ahead of them. Depicting a rather typical Egyptian theme, the game immerses players amongst the dusty dunes of the Sahara as they seek their fortune.
As a 5 reeled slot with a total of 20 paylines, Treasure Tomb doesn't stray all that far away from the standard format akin to slots of a similar build. Where it does differ however is in the way that it seems to engage players.
Enticing players in with a highly interactive theme and challenging their wits with its range of booby traps, there is some serious money up for grabs for individuals brazen enough to take on the full might of the game. Hardly least of all of these is the 3,000 coin non-progressive jackpot that looms constantly above your head as you play. A jackpot which should hardly be sniffed at, this feature can be triggered by attaining five wild symbols on the active reel.
Symbols of the Times
Of course, this game is subject to all of the usual, bog standard symbols - in terms of scatters, free spins and wilds. The Pharaoh’s Treasure symbol is the games wild and should be treated with a great deal of respect, given its power to greatly enhance any line by replacing any of the other symbols across active reels – bar the scatter.
The game’s scatter is represented by a rather unsettling Gold Mask symbol and is responsible for unlocking the free spins. What’s more, the scatter will unlock the game’s bonus round when a player lands a minimum of three across the active reels.
An additional bonus symbol that players would do well to keep an eye for is the Scarab Beetle. This creepy crawly can do some serious good when it appears on the reels: with 3 triggering a pot multiplier of x5, 4 triggering a x15 multiplier and the holy grail of 5 knocking up a sweet x50! What’s more, this feature even possesses the possibility to be re-triggered which can lead to even more spins during the bonus game itself.
The last feature we’ll shout about (for now!) is the gamble feature. Sure to cause division depending on where you personally stand on the matter, this cheeky little morsel of course offers you the chance to risk it all (‘it’ being the money you’ve laboured so hard to save up) for the chance of doubling it. Yes it’s tempting, maybe a little unnecessary, but surely that’s what it’s all about!?
