Magic Pot Slot Machine
After being puzzled by the title of this game before playing, it quickly became apparent from the intro video what the pot in question was all about. This is referring to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Irish luck is the theme of this game, complete with traditional backing track and (uniquely for GamesOS at least) a 3D ‘host’ that stands in front of the reels and reacts to your play. This is of course a leprechaun. Symbols on the reels have a forest feel to them, and there is an entertaining break-out bonus game where you can find hidden treasure.
Production on this slot is a step up compared to many of the mobile compatible GamesOS games. The graphics and colouring is detailed and lavish. The 3D leprechaun stands to the left of the reels. He cheers when you win (saying ‘yessss’), and occasionally turns around to look at the reels. When the bonus game starts a rope appears from the tree behind him which he climbs. I will say that some of the noises he makes are kind of odd – stretching and yawning maybe?
The background graphics are amazing, a dark forest, which is seen through the semi-transparent reels. There are animations when you get winning combinations and detailed symbols too. There include an old shoe which might just be the leprechaun’s house, acorns, mushrooms, blackberries, crystals and the obligatory 4 leafed clover. When you hit a win a small door opens at the base of a tree to the left of the reels which reveals a ‘gamble’ button. The traditional Irish song in the background is joined by a short accordion jingle when you hit a winning combination.
You’ll find just a single pick-em game as a bonus feature in this slot – though there are also wilds and scatter symbols on the reels.
Setup and Play for Magic Pot
This is the standard 5 reel and 25 win line variation of video slots used by GamesOS. You can select the number of lines to play, and choose your coin size from 1c and up. The gamble after win involves betting on the turn of a playing card (red / black or suits) and there is also an auto-spin option available. You can select fast mode from the settings for super-quick play, you can also change the volume of the different types of sound there.
It is possible to win 6000 coins from a single line with 4 of the 4-leafed clover symbols. This same symbol pays from 2 and up, with 6 coins for 2, 50 for 3 and 500 for 4. Clovers are also wild, meaning that they can join with any regular symbol to complete a winning combination.
Of those regular symbols, the shoe has the biggest prize. This is worth 600 for 5 on a line (and pays from 2 up). Next comes a pint of beer (300 for 5), then a lantern (150), crystals and mushrooms follow, with the 3 fruits making up the smaller wins.
The only remaining symbol is a pot of gold which says ‘Bonus’. This has two roles, paying prizes as a scatter symbol when it lands anywhere on the reels, and also triggering the bonus game. Scatters can pay up to 300 times your total spin amount for 5, with 60x for 4 and 6x for 3.
Magic Pot Bonus Game
When you hit 3+ of the bonus symbols a giant scroll unfurls on the screen – revealing a detailed map with lots of little creatures represented as coloured tokens on it. Your job is to find treasure by clicking on these. Each time you do you will reveal a cash prize. These keep on accumulating until you pick one with a red ‘X’ under it – at which point the game is over.
While essentially just a random choosing game, the graphics (including the leprechaun on the main screen leaving for the bonus and then coming back with his wins) make it worth a look.
Magic Pot – Conclusion
One of the high end slots as far as GamesOS is concerned. The detailed graphics and inclusion of the 3D host leprechaun makes this slot stand out from their regular titles. There is not too much going on in the game play, with only wilds and the occasional scatter win to keep you entertained. You can win 6000 coins on a single line from this game. I enjoyed the graphics and concept of the bonus game, though have to wonder whether this would still be entertaining after 10 rounds? This is a beautifully produced slot, and is certainly worth taking for a quick spin.
