Stay with us for a complete review of Dancing Lions that will give you all the tips you need to put all chances on your side.
Celebrations are In Order
Dancing Lions takes place at the core of the traditional New Year celebrations, a very special occasion in China where entire cities are decorated – and the party can lasts for days on.
The game perfectly reflects this festive atmosphere, with an overall red colour scheme and plenty of decorations hanging around the reels, which are framed within an old Chinese temple. The result is visually striking and pleasant to look at.
The atmosphere of the game is however relatively quiet, as only a few basic sound effects are used. That being said, Dancing Lions boasts a fun and dynamic atmosphere that many players will surely appreciate.
Getting the Party Started
As always, GameArt made sure that the gameplay of Dancing Lions stuck to the basics of the genre and was open enough to let beginner players play easily as well.
The game features five reels of three symbols each, and ten fixed paylines in total. This means that, by definition, you cannot change the number of activated paylines. You can still use the arrow commands at the bottom of the game screen to adjust your bet per line. The green Spin button lets you validate your settings and set the reels into motion at the same time. Winning combinations appearing on paylines trigger a cash prize, which you can double through the optional gambling game. Guess the colour of the card to do so, and repeat to double your winning over and over again. A wrong guess will take everything away, so play carefully.
You can also use the Autoplay mode and let the game take the wheel for a while. The reels will spin on their own, while saving your bet settings and applying them over and over again. You rewards will add up automatically, and you can always come back to the basic game mode at any time.
A Closer Look at the Paytable
Dancing Lions features eight basic reel symbols in total, split into two different categories.
The first symbols only produce low payouts and are inspired by classic card games. Ranging from number 10 to the Ace, these first few icons appear often on screen, thus giving you many opportunities to score some winning combinations with them.
However, the real fun starts with the Drums, Fireworks and the Lantern. Those typical Chinese items yield much bigger wins and should be on your personal radar at all times if you want to win big in Dancing Lions.
Good Luck Charms and Mythic Animals
To top it all off, Dancing Lions also features two special reel symbols that bring a little more than mere cash to the mix.
Firstly, the Lion symbol is the Wild card of the game. It can replace any of the symbols we have previously mentioned in order to help you complete a few more winning combinations on the reels. Besides, Lion combinations are also the most valuable of the entire game.
The Lucky Charms are Scatter symbols here. They appear on reels 1, 3 and 5, and you will need three of them to trigger a Bonus round of ten Free Spins. During those free games, the Lucky Charms also become Wilds to make sure that you make the best out of this free ride on the reels.
Roar Talent
Dancing Lions includes all the basic features of a good real cash video slot game: an efficient and immersive universe, an easy gameplay and a few Bonuses to spice things up a little for players. The result is, as always, quite addictive.
That being said, the small number of available paylines restricts your freedom quite a bit. Some players might also regret the fact that only three symbols on the entire paytable are actually connected to the game universe. However, Dancing Lions is still worth a try, especially if you are a fan of Chinese-inspired slot games. If not, GameArt do have more unique titles like the Da Vinci Codex slot for you to have a crack at.
