Take Me Out Date Night Slots
This slot is brash, loud and very, very pink. It is based on the Take Me Out: Date Night game show, and has bonus rounds and celebrity tie-ins with the show. It is one of those slots you’ll either love or hate, and unless you are a fan of the show I’d be very surprised if you love it! There is a break out free spins game (Fernando’s Free Spins Bonus) and plenty of opportunity to win big with contestants (girls) that are both wilds and scatters at the same time. There are even 2 special wild symbols which appear in the middle reel.
I’d say this was the pinkest slot from Fremantle Media I have ever reviewed – and that is saying something. The bright surround to the reels and bright blue buttons make for an impression which can only be described as gaudy. The symbols are over a black background, which highlights their brightness. These include heart, glossy lips in a ‘kiss’ shape, male and female symbols, Paddy (the main host of the show) and the female contestants. There are also playing card symbols.
As the reels land they have a different note on the ‘thud’ which gives an overall musical feel while you play. The background music is brassy and as loud as the colours, it can be muted via the settings if you wish.
In addition to the opportunity to win big with multiple contestants on reels 2 through 5, you can play a break out bonus game involving a new set of symbols on the Isle of Fernando.
Setup and Play for Take Me Out Date Night
There are no line markers on this slot, which uses a 25 line setup. The betting limits start at 1c per line (25c for all) and go up to 20c per line for $5 a spin. Unusually, I was not able to find an auto-play option for this slot.
Glossy lips will get you the biggest regular prize; this is worth 1000 coins for 5 on a line, 250 for 4 and 50 for just 3. Next come the female and male signs, worth 500 coins if you get 5 – followed by the heart and flower at 300 and 150 respectively. As usual the playing cards make up all those small but incrementally important wins.
When your host Paddy appears on line one, you’ll hear a voice over announcement asking to bring on the girls. If any of the female contestants hit the next 4 reels, you will trigger the free spins bonus game. Even without Paddy on the first reel the girls will bring in some wins. These are wild (substituting for the regular symbols) and pay as scatters (which means they are no tied to win-lines). Several of these can create some big wins.
There are two special wilds, which only appear on the middle reel. The first one is the lift, which will move either up or down to cover the entire centre reel, and will often make up several winning combinations when it does. The other one involves Paddy, who comes into play and distributes some extra wilds onto the reels.
Date Night Slot Bonus Round
You will get a number of free spins that depends on how many female contestants you get alongside Paddy on the reels. This is 10 for the first contestant, and then 5 more up to 25 for each additional one.
Next you go to a break out screen, where you’ll choose from 3 icons which determine your location on the island. The reels then change to new symbols which are neon signs on a black background. You spin through, accumulating wins as you go. There are no special wilds or contestants in this part of the game – which gives you more opportunities to line up cocktails and palm trees (for example).
At the end of the round you get a total win, and return to the main game.
Take Me Out – Date Night – Conclusion
This is an entertaining enough slot, with bonus games and the opportunity for a big win if you line up enough of the wild / scatter contestants. Having said that, I cannot see myself ever going back for another spin (personal preferences!). The break out free spins game and different types of wild symbol certainly add some variety. If you loved the show, you’ll probably love the slot too – make sure you check it out for yourself soon.
