Battle Tanks Slot Machine
The grime of warfare has been brought to the fore for many years now across various mediums, all designed to transport you there and get a taste for how difficult life in the trenches can be. Battle Tanks from Evoplay Entertainment is just another means of doing precisely that, while managing to deliver a fun slot game for you to enjoy.
The mood is a sombre one, with lashing down rain adding to the twisted serenity of a world broken by war, all portrayed to you perfectly from the 3x5 grid that consists of 5-reels and has up to 9 paylines available.
As you’d expect from wartime, when the odds are stacked against you and the enemy is drawing closer, there are a lot of surprises, both good and bad, that will make an appearance along the way. This may take the form of beneficial scatters and a rip roaring bonus game, or it may result in you walking away with nothing at all, such is its brutality.
Preparing for War
There is quite a lot to sort out before you go off to war and see the horrors of armed conflict, and not all of it is as standard as you’d think, especially when it comes to Battle Tanks.
Given the nature of the game you’re going to need to pay to go to battle and head your own assault, though don’t panic as the cost isn’t too high and no blood will need to be spilled. In fact it is a low 0.50 for those starting out and who are cautious about how much they want to stake. At the other end you have 10.00, which again is quite a small amount compared to some slot machines.
Setting your amount can look confusing at first but it’s actually really simple; the confusion often comes from the ‘Bet Per Line’ and ‘Choose Coin’ options, which aren’t one in the same as you might think. The per line amount refers to the number of coins you’d like to place on each payline, with the coin option being the set value of each coin. Still with us? Don’t worry if you’re not because when you get down to playing it’ll all begin to make more sense.
As touched on in the introduction, there are 9 paylines but you don’t have to play with all of them - just select the + or - icons to activate the ones you want, then you can spin the reels as much as you like. The Max Bet will start you off with the max amounts, and the Autoplay just means that a specific number of spins will trigger.
That’s all there is to it, so let's take a look at the theme and graphics of the title, and which symbols will grant you access to which areas of the trenches. It’s a maze down there, so the more you know the better.
Mud and Rain
The reels are housed inside a rundown brick building which appears to have been bombed previously, the heavy rain bouncing off of it yet never managing to dampen the fire burning in the steel barrel out front. It is a sorry sight, and one we can appreciate for its severity from the comfort of our homes and not on the field of battle.
Although there are 11 icons in Battle Tanks they’re relatively simple to get your head around, with the card value tiles being the lower and less important ones you’ll find. After that the next six are unique and war themed, with tanks, trucks, country insignias and camouflage showing up along the way. The scatter icon is the most valuable here, with it equalling to up x4,500 should you uncover five of them, followed by a series of bonus spins and a x3 multiplier. Not bad.
It’s the bonus tile that has us all a flutter though with its green tones and crossed guns logo; when you find enough of them the mini level will load where you are now placed inside a tank and are taking aim at your enemies. All you need to do is take out as many of them as possible and your total will keep climbing.
Although no specific skills are required for you to do well, it’s always good to have a decent aim. Be warned though that one tank is hiding the ‘COLLECT’ option which will end your special round and return you to the base game.
The Aftermath of Fighting
Nobody said bloodshed and combat would be pretty, but Battle Tanks has managed to add a certain kind of beauty to it all that you can’t help but be moved by.
Although you won’t be bandaging yourself up, you may up licking your wounds as it is a medium variance title that takes no prisoners, but if you can steady your nerves you can expect some amazingly high payouts. Battle Tanks is another top quality online activity that will be doing the rounds for some time yet.
