More Lucky & Wild Slot Machine
More Lucky & Wild : not a bad name for a slot game. Show me a gambler that couldn’t use a little luck on his side. Show me a gamer who doesn’t want to enjoy a wild time playing the pokies.
More Lucky & Wild is the brainchild of the Euro Games Technology (EGT) software suite, and is decidedly old-school in design – though it was released fairly recently, in 2014. The 5-reeler slot machine, which boasts 20 paylines, is consequently all about fruit, fruit and more fruit. Actually, there’s a few non-edible symbols on the reels too. There are, for instance, lucky 7s, a golden liberty bell and a red-and-gold star.
More Lucky & Wild will be familiar to anyone who’s ever plugged some loose change into the local pub’s fruit machine. Thus, we have click-clacking reels, a baize-like green background and simple animations. OK, so this one isn’t exactly at the sharp edge of the online gaming world. But don’t rule it out just yet…
Simpler Times, Easier Games
There’s no getting around it: More Lucky & Wild is easy to play and easy to understand. Along the bottom of the grid you’ll find all the pertinent data you could possibly require: last win amount, bet-per-line, credit value, the all-important mute button (those clacking reels do start to fray the nerves after a while) and an Information tab, which takes you through to the pay-table. Either side of the reels themselves are numbers representing the paylines.
The reel icons themselves include cherries, an orange, a wedge of watermelon, a pod of blackberries and a golden liberty bell. There’s also the aforementioned red 7, as well as a golden horseshoe wild, a red-and-gold star and a four-leaf clover.
Above the reels, you’ll see a value next to each card suit icon. Each suit has a different number attached, and you might get the chance to win the amount at any stage – more on that later.
Fruity Nourishment
There’s plenty of fruit on the reels, but in truth, the fruit symbols don’t pay especially well. Five blackberries or watermelons, for instance, pays just 150, while four pays only 20. The oranges and cherries are even worse: five of these only pays 100. That being said, you can expect bigger pay-outs elsewhere. Five lucky 7s pays 400, while four pays 50; five bells pays 200; and five wild horseshoes pays 5,000, with four yielding 200.
Far and away the most lucrative symbol, though, is the red-and-gold star. Land five of these beauties and you’ll be raving about the wonders of the cosmos to anyone in earshot; you’ll also be racing to the bank to deposit your 4,000 winnings. Four stars pays 400, while three yields 100.
Land the Clover, Over and Over
The green four-leaf clover appears on the second and fourth reels and is able to expand to cover all neighbouring positions. This expanding wild symbols can certainly lead to some handsome pay-out wins; the clover substitutes for all symbols except the red-and-gold scatter. The scatter, incidentally, is not linked to any free spins; it’s simply the highest-paying symbol in the game.
The horseshoe wild is able to substitute for other symbols, although it cannot replace the star or the clover. Use the horseshoe and clover to help you configure line wins.
To scoop one of the four progressive jackpots, you simply need a bit of luck on your side; the Jackpot Card Mystery bonus is triggered entirely at random. If you’re one of the chosen few, you’ll be guided through to a second screen, where you’ll have to match three card suits. This is where the values sitting above the reels come in: whatever suit you match, you’ll win the corresponding jackpot amount.
Luck is the main factor in determining whether you get a pop at the mystery bonus, but the gamble option is much easier to take advantage of. You can hit Gamble whenever the box lights up, which usually occurs after regular pay-line wins. Simply choose the colour of the card the dealer reveals – red or black – to double your booty.
Worth A Punt?
If you’re a demanding gamer, you can certainly find better slot games out there. However, if you crave the simplicity of old-world fruit-based games, this one will almost certainly quench your thirst.
