Wine Treasury Slot

A slot machine based around wine? We’ll drink to that! Actually, there’s just a single image of a bottle of wine to see in this five-reel, 20-payline slot from DLV, with grapes, a wooden barrel, frogs and snails also making appearances. It’s a game themed more around the grapes that wine is made from, with has a special bonus feature where you collect bunches of them to claim win multipliers and extra games. It also comes with a wild symbol that returns the top prizes, with up to 10,000x the amount staked on each line claimed when it’s seen.

A light blue background, enhanced with the green leaves of a grapevine sits behind the parchment-effect reels. It’s a nice design that doesn’t exactly have the wow factor, but certainly won’t put anyone off either. Any three or more of the colorful symbols stopping across a payline from the left side will see prizes paid out, although the barrel is a scatter icon that pays in any positions. You can activate any number of the paylines, although it’s always wise to have them all in play, in case you see a big win across an in-active one. With just 0.01 needed per line, everyone should find a bet level to suit their pockets.

The Wine Treasury video slot comes from the Latvian-based studios of DLV, a company best-known for their popular land-based casino games. Over the last couple of years however, they have started to release more and more online and mobile optimised games, with some of the best online casinos now featuring their ever-expanding range. Let’s press on now and see what rewards we can squeeze from the Wine Treasury.

Grape Expectations

Stylish and colorful playing card symbols are used to create the lower-value combinations, with the 9, 10 and J each worth 10x, 30x, or 100x the per line bet when seen on three, four, or five reels. The K and A pay 20x, 60x, or 150x, while unique picture symbols return the higher prizes. The green wine bottle and a slice of cheese are each worth up to 500x the amount you have wagered on the payline and there’s prizes of up to 2,000x when either the frog or snail are seen right across a line. These last two symbols might seem a strange choice in a game that’s supposed to be about wine. However, each creature is rather unhygienically seen clutching a grape, so there’s still some sort of connection, even if it’s a bit odd.

A smiling young woman under the shade of a grapevine is the wild symbol. She only has to land on reels one and two across an active payline to be worth 10x the line stake, with any three, four, or five paying out 500x, 3,000x and 10,000x in that order. Because she’s a wild symbol, she can substitute for any of those listed above to complete additional combinations or extend a win across more reels for a higher payout.

Barrel Bonus Feature

The barrel of grapes is a scatter symbol that pays 15x the line stake when seen in any three places at once. If four are in view at the end of a spin, you claim a prize of 90x, while any five or more returns 1,500x. Once the scatter prizes have been paid out, you are rewarded with 13 free spins, which might seem an unlucky number, but you can earn extra spins within the feature.

Special bunches of grapes can be collected as the free games play out. If you get all of the red, green and purple bunches before the 13 spins are over, an extra seven free games are added on, and this can be repeated over and over again. These bunches of grapes also pay out prizes equal to twice the total bet per spin.

Double or Nothing

If you want to have a go at doubling a win, potentially several times over, then Wine Treasury has a gamble feature that can do just that. It’s an optional side game, common to all slots from DLV, where the win is doubled if you guess the color of a playing card. Click the red or black buttons next to the card for the color to be revealed and if you got it right, you can either collect the win, or keep on gambling.

It’s a true 50/50 guess, but be careful, as any wrong pick forfeits the initial win along with anything earned so far in the gamble feature. It might be risky, but gamble rounds certainly add to the excitement of playing a slot machine.

Betting Options

With stakes that run from just 0.01 per spin, (or 0.10 if you want all lines active), through to a high limit of 50.00, it’s a slot game to suit most bankrolls. Changing your bet size is easy, with just a click of a button needed. It’s just as simple to activate the Autoplay option, which lets you sit back, perhaps with a glass of wine, and watch the games play out on their own.

If you like to play slots when you are away from a desktop PC, then you will pleased to see that Wine Treasury is mobile optimised and can be accessed on Android smartphones and tablets, Windows devices iPhones and iPads.

Fancy a Tipple?

If you like wine, then have a taster of In Vino, a slot game from SGS that features bottles of the stuff, along with grapes, glasses, corkscrews and ice-buckets. The five reels are set in a wine cellar and when the right symbols line up, you are treated to wins of up to 25,000x the line bet. Special features include wild substitutions and a bonus round triggered by three or more wine barrels stopping on the reels at once.

For a change of drinks, why not visit the Bier Haus video slot from WMS? It’s set in a typical German drinking establishment, where a big guy in lederhosen and a buxom barmaid are toasting your success. Pints of beer act as a wild symbol, which remains locked in place during the free spins feature. Although just five free games are initially awarded, it’s fairly easy to retrigger the round, with the potential to enjoy a maximum of 80 spins.

Raise Your Glasses

We would like to toast DLV for releasing a slot machine that comes with a high return to player percentage and some great features. Although some of the symbol choices are a bit left-field, we really liked this game. It’s an easy game to understand, with a clear-cut layout and design that will be ideal for new players and experienced gamblers alike. We’re still not entirely sure why frogs and snail symbols are used, but don’t let them put you off this fun slot.
