Superbikes Slot Machine
Superbikes is a colourful, non-progressive video slot powered by the WorldMatch platform. The fast-paced moto racing themed casino game has 5 reels and 25 unfixed paylines, not to mention a handsome jackpot of 2,500 credits.
If you need to experience the feeling of wind in your hair as you zip through hairpin bends on your powerful Yamaha bike, then go ahead and do that; but if you want to play a well-paying video slot with a rocking soundtrack and photorealistic images of chequered flags, racetracks and bike helmets, Superbikes is an outstanding option. Let’s take a closer look.
Getting Started
You know the drill: as the gamer, you’re tasked with finding matching combinations of three, four or five symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel. Only the scatter is the exception – it pays in any position.
In Superbikes, you’re free to play on 1, 5, 10, 15 or 25 lines. You can also play with coins ranging from 0.10 to 2 credits. At max bet, therefore, you’ll be spinning the reels at a cost of 50 credits. Given many WorldMatch slots have a maximum bet-per-spin of 25 or 30, Superbikes is definitely aimed at players who wish to game with slightly higher stakes.
You’ll find the control panel at the foot of the screen, as always. There are tabs for Autoplay, Max Bet, Bet Level and Lines. There’s also a mute button (not a fan of rock?) and an Information tab, the latter of which lets you have a peek at the pay-table, where you can view all pay-outs associated with different matching combinations.
Welcome to the Track
The backdrop of the transparent reels shows a racetrack, with the packed-to-capacity stands appearing off to the left. Above the reels, you’ll find the Superbikes logo, and in the columns themselves, multiple symbols associated with this much-loved sport. As you play, you’ll be treated to a rip-roaring soundtrack: beefy riffs, driving drums, glorious solos. There are also audio effects of revving engines, creating the impression that you’re at a real live track, about to witness the likes of Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez do battle.
On the 5x3 grid, the symbols drive home the superbike theme. Icons include a chequered flag, a headshot of a smiling driver wearing a baseball cap, a bike helmet, a badge with the number 46, a pair of driving gloves, an aerial view of a racetrack, a bottle of champagne and a silver trophy. The graphics, on the whole, are excellent – reminiscent of a video game in fact.
The lowest-value symbol on the board is the bike helmet. This one pays just one credit for three, five for four and 50 for five. The chequered flag, meanwhile, pays two for three, 10 for four and 75 for five, while the red gloves pays three for three, 15 for four and 100 for five. The racetrack pays five, 20 and 120, while the silver trophy pays five, 25 and 150.
The holy trinity of symbols comprises the champagne bottle, the ‘46’ badge and the biker headshot. The ‘46’ badge pays 10 for three, 50 for four and 250 for five. The magnum of champagne, traditionally awarded to winners of races, pays 10, 100 and 500, while the moto rider pays 25, 250 and 2,500. The headshot is also the game’s wild, and as such, it can stand in for other symbols to help you form wins. It cannot, however, replace the bonus symbol.
Superbikes Bonus Game
The bonus game is triggered when three or more bonus symbols appear on the reels. The bonus symbol is of some eye-candy in a boob tube. Once the bonus game opens, the player has to click on six out of nine petrol pumps. At each click, the win amount of the selected pump will be displayed. The totaliser displays the total amount won and the bonus screen closes after all six petrol pumps have been selected.
Hello Moto
Playing the Superbikes slot isn’t nearly as thrilling as racing round the track in a top-of-the-range bike, but it has its moments. Fuel up your Honda, fix your crash helmet on your head and race towards the finish line and a 2,500 top prize.
