Symbols Don’t Match the Theme
The symbols featured in Aladdin’s Lamp leave a lot to be desired. Although they are traditional symbols used in classic style slot machines, they in no way match the theme of Aladdin’s Lamp. The symbols used in the game are:
The bejeweled 7 – the highest paying symbol in the game. This symbol pays out either 500, 1000, or 2,500 credits depending on how many of the 3 credits allowed is wagered when hitting 3 like symbols on a payline. Hitting three bejeweled 7s is considered the jackpot on this game paying out 2,500 credits.
The red 7 – the second highest paying symbol of the game. Players who hit three of these symbols in a row will win either 80, 160, or 240 credits depending on how many credits are wagered.
Any 7 on the payline pays out 40, 80, 0r 120 credits depending on the amount of the original wager. When players spin all three triple gold bar symbols on a payline, they will be awarded with either 30, 60, or 90 credits depending on the original bet amount.
Spinning 3 double gold bars on a payline will award players either 20, 40, or 60 credits depending on the amount of the original wager.
When a player lands 3 single gold bars onto the pay line, 10, 20, or 30 credits will be awarded depending on the amount of the original wager.
Merry Cherries
Cherries also pay out 10, 20, or 30 credits, when three are hit. Again, this depends on whether the player wagered 1, 2, or 3 credits on the spin.
There are also various combinations of cherries and single gold bars that can produce a win and these are explained in the pay table embedded in the background of the game.
The player experience would have been dramatically improved if different symbols were used for this game. It would have been nice to see Aladdin’s lamp itself be utilised as a symbol or even a genie, gold coins, or a magic carpet. There are plenty of choices that would have been better than the symbols used.
Layout and Design
Aladdin’s Lamp has a very clean design that is very easy to use. The pay table being embedded into the background makes it very easy to see what symbols payout and the graphics are well designed. However, do note our symbols grumble earlier. It really grates on us!
What Will the Lamp Reveal?
Aladdin’s Lamp is a classic style slot that is not a bad game and actually fun to play. The lack of symbols that add to the theme of the game definitely takes away from player experience.
Some special features such as a bonus game, wild, or scatter symbol also would have been nice. The game is pretty much what you see is what you get as there are no frills, or surprises that can happen on the paylines other than the “jackpot”. The jackpot does payout nicely at 2,500 credits and is one of the few things that this game does correctly.
The game also features an auto spin feature where players can select the software to auto spin for them up to a total of 100 spins. The downside to this is the software does not show how many spins the player has left while the auto spin is engaged.
Aladdin’s Lamp is a very good game for players seeking a no nonsense, no frills game that plays more like a classic brick and mortar slot machine.
