Pina Nevada 3 Reel Online Slot Machine Review
Having cocktails as symbols makes a refreshing change for a 3 reel slot. This type of game is usually dominated by the traditional symbols like bars, sevens and cherries. Slots software house Saucify has a range of 3 reel games which make a genuine effort to reproduce the sounds and visuals of the original mechanical games. Pina Nevada is a great example, and one which has the added interest of using a wild symbol, 5 win lines and the chance to win 6000 coins in single spin. The cocktail theme being a change up from the usual fare is just the icing on the cake for me.
Graphics are dominated by a pink and green ‘Pina Nevada’ neon sign, which sits to the bottom left of the screen. Above this the reels are shaded in such a way as to mimic the curves of the mechanical games. The symbols themselves are small and not particularly details, they are cocktails and things like olives on sticks and peels of lime.
At the top right a somewhat confusing matrix of Pina Nevada symbols is shown. This gives the pay-outs for different lines for when you hit 3 of the main symbols. Underneath is the regular pay table, showing the different prizes for the combinations of cocktails.
Sounds for this game include the slightly crazy background chatter and slot noises. What Saucify are doing here is trying to add to the feeling of being in a crowded Vegas slots hall. Fortunately this does fade into the background when you spin – as the mix of an electronic noise and mechanical whirr of the reels drowns it out. There are also jingles for wins, with the pay table flashing to show which pay out you are getting.
Setup and Play for Pina Nevada
This slot has just 5 win lines. There are three horizontal ones, top, middle and bottom – plus the two diagonals from the top and bottom left. You do get a choice of how many lines to play. I strongly recommend that you follow a strategy of sticking to all 5. The pay-out for 3 of the Pina Nevada logos for the 5th line is much bigger than the others. This makes a large difference to the pay-out percentage for this game. Also, if you did hit the logo on line 5 while playing fewer lines, you’ll always be wondering what you might have done with that 6000 coin prize!
Pay-outs for the 3 of the logos for each line are as follows; line 1 wins you 1000 coins, line 2 gets 2000, line 3 gets 3000 line 4 gets 4000 then the jump to 6000 for line 6. Other pay outs are headed by the flaming cocktail, which is worth 300 for 3 on any line. Next is the one with the orange (100), the martini (50), lime twist (20), 3 olives (10), mix of any 3 symbols (4), 2 olives (2) and one olive (1).
The Pina Nevada logo is wild and substitutes for any other symbol on the list – though there are no multipliers in this game which come with this. In case of more than one win, only the highest win per line is paid out.
Pina Nevada 3 Reel – Conclusion
I am encouraged to see a 3 reel slot from Saucify which breaks out of relying on the same old symbols like 7’s and bars. The tie in with cocktails is very much a Las Vegas thing, and works well with the gambling theme. 5 win-lines makes a big difference for me when playing traditional slots. You get wins more frequently, and do not sit looking at a single empty win-line quite as often. Add to this the chance of 6000 coins coming your way for 3 logos on line 3 and you have something extra to keep you interested on top.
Saucify create some very realistic 3 reel slots, and this one is a great example which also looks perfect on mobile screens. Check this mobile slot out for yourself.
