Legacy of the Wild Slots
Legacy of the Wild that it is, with wins coming in right off the bat for new and old players alike; Playtech have excelled here with this stunning slot machine, having delivered a mysterious yet charming magical game for users to immerse themselves in.
The land in which you’re now playing is one unlike ours, filled with ghouls, goblins and monsters, but also the brightest of spells and witchcraft - it’s an adventure just to play the title, let alone win it. But oh win you can, with many features in place to make your play through as intense and rewarding as possible.
The Wave-O-Meter and the Book of Wilds are two exclusive specials to the game that spice up the action and can add a lot of cash to the kitty; together they make for the deadliest of combos.
In the Study
Not every story line begins out in the open, battling a demon, sometimes you have to retire to the study and think through your next move for the magic to happen - this is the route Legacy of the Wild has taken. The setting is a musty looking study, littered with books and papers, lit only by candlelight.
Upon it is the 4x5 grid, a chunkier format than you may be used to, yet everything plays like every other slot machine from the brand, controls wise at least. Down the left hand side is where you’ll find one of the features and the bet settings, whilst the opposite side is where the spinning begins.
A simple layout, and yet it’s a powerful one due to the moody and atmospheric graphics employed here.
Light ‘Em Up!
To get the lights on the Wave-O-Meter up and running, you need to make a win, any one will do, it doesn’t have to be from the selection of high tiles. When this happens the symbols will pop into thin air, your win counted, and the light will glow. Normally it goes out after a win, but if you get a special amount of the waves, you can climb up the meter and activate free games.
The reason this is made easier is due to the collapsing reels, hence why your symbols disappear rather than stay in place. Every time you make a winning combo, more can appear afterwards, essentially opening up the possibility of a endless loop of waves and wins. That’s the theory at least, and sometimes it does happen, but most of the time you get minimal wins.
What’s in a Book?
The Book of Wilds symbol looks to be an impressive feature, and in some respects it is, for it can open up as many as five wilds to you in one go. However, you need to have been totting up that meter alongside it for that to happen, which makes the task of landing a full set of wilds that much harder.
As opposed to those games that don’t have set wild wins, the five of a kind will gift you €750, making it a sum of money you definitely want to aim for, however even a win of €5 can be obtained from just two of a kind. It isn’t a big win, but sometimes you don’t need a windfall for the amounts to all add up and for you to start rolling in money.
Turbo Boost!
During your play, if you’re plodding along at an average pace, you may be prompted at some point to try out the Turbo Mode, available within the settings section of the game; we know we were. After a couple of spins there was the pop up, giving us the option without us even having to look for it, which was a nice change, if not expected.
When activated the hue of the button turns a yellowy orange, giving it a glow you can’t miss; this is your way of knowing the turbo is on, but we’re sure you’ll notice before then, as the 5 reels will go much, much faster.
A Legacy to Behold
We were pleasantly surprised by this slot machine, the name having not given too much away; sometimes you can judge (rightfully or wrongfully) how a game will be from its title, but with Legacy of the Wild it’s difficult to do that. The choice to make it whimsical is one well made by the brand, and one that is miles apart from many of their other activities.
The game play is smooth and the features varied enough to generate continued interest and entertainment, making it a successful game with much life in it yet. Playable in every sense of the word.
