NRVNA The Nxt Xperience Slot Machine
NRVNA The Nxt Xperience is a 2016 video slot released by respected digital entertainment company NetEnt. A hypermodern 5-reel slot game set underwater, this 2016 release has a spiritual theme and an epic soundtrack. Whether you’ll find enlightenment or bags of cash at the end of the rainbow is anyone’s guess, but you’re sure to appreciate a video slot that has 30 unfixed paylines and a generous RTP of 96.6%.
NRVNA The Nxt Xperience is not based on the exploits of Kurt Cobain or the seminal grunge band he fronted in the early ‘90s, but it does offer free spins and multipliers. In fact, there’s a whopping 3,220 times your stake to be won. Let’s dive right into it.
Getting Started
NRVNA The Nxt Xperience features a typical 5x3 grid and 30 fully adjustable paylines. Before hitting Spin, set your coin value, which goes from 0.01 to 0.50, and acquaint yourself with the rules by clicking the question mark icon in the lower left corner. NRVNA The Nxt Xperience also features an Auto Play option, which can be set to 10, 25, 50 or 100 automatic spins. As is the case in most slot games, winning combinations of three or more symbols are formed on active lines, starting from the far left reel.
The game takes place on a transparent grid, with crystal-like symbols falling into place from above.
Elemental Symbols
The icons occupying the reels include balls of colourful gas. The scatter is represented by the glowing orange orb, in the centre of which lies a white diamond. The scatter provides free spins when you find three or more across the reels. For three scatters you’ll win 10 free spins, for four it’s 15 and for five it’s 30. Additional free spins can also be activated during free spins, and after each free spin, the spinning NRVNA wheel will randomly show a multiplier of up to 10x and/or additional free spins of up to +2, which are instantly added to your account. Multipliers apply to the current round and multiply all bet line wins, including wild icon wins. Neat!
The wild is represented by a pink orb, in the middle of which is a star. The wild can replace all other symbols to help you make up winning combinations. It cannot, however, stand in for the scatter. Not only that, but all bet line wins with wild symbols pay a generous x3 multiplier. Unlike in some slots, the wild can appear on any position and on all five reels. It appears during the base game and the free spins round.
Regular symbols include some casino staples such as bells, cherries, 7s and horseshoes. However, they are backlit by a strange, diaphanous light in accordance with the game’s mystical theme. There’s also a shamrock and a horseshoe. The cherries pay best: five for two, 70 for three, 300 for four and 2,000 for five. Next, it’s the glowing 7, which grants 60 for three, 200 for four and 1,000 for five. The bell pays 50 for three, 150 for four and 500 for five, while the shamrock pays 40/100/200. Last in line is the horseshoe, which pays 25/50/150.
In addition to the traditional fruit machine symbols, there are five different playing cards, from 10 to A. At the lower end of the sliding scale, five 10s pays 70, but five Aces pays 125.
We think it’s a little odd that a game named after a transcendent state of consciousness features old-fashioned slot staples like four-leaf clovers, bells and horseshoes, but at least they are brought in line with the theme in terms of the design they are given.
Thumbs up for NRVNA
Like the similar looking Glowor Starburst slots, NRVNA keeps things relatively simple, though that’s not a criticism: it is clearly targeted at players who prioritise hitting wins rather than being spellbound by graphics.
The features in the game are quite standard, though the presence of a NRVNA bonus wheel makes the free spins round even more interesting. The visuals are solid, slightly spacey and spectral, and the laid-back soundtrack gets a big thumbs up – particularly if you like Ibiza chill-out music. Give the reels a spin and see if you can reach a state of blissful nirvana
