Smile Slot Machine
Sometimes during the day, when you are feeling tired or a bit low, you just need to do something that will cheer you up and raise your mood a little.
Smile is a video slot game by Neogames whose aim is to do exactly that. Its simply gameplay and light theme are guaranteed to brighten your day, and the cash rewards on the table will surely help as well.
So if you feel that you need a little mood (and wallet) booster, check out our full review of Smile and see if it could become your next favourite slot game.
A Colourful and Light Universe
Smile is a slot game that is all about good vibes and positivity, and as such it seemingly takes place up in the skies, among the clouds.
The game universe is not as well defined as in other Neogames creations such as Rainbow Charms, but the light blue and white background is enough to give it a light and pleasant feel. Forget your daily worries and embark on a relaxing, and potentially rewarding adventure.
This seems to be the premise of the game, and we must admit that it is working quite well despite its apparent simplicity. The commands and switches are colourful, and the reels transparent. All of the set is light and eerie, and perhaps lacks a little originality but it is overall a pleasant décor to play in. Speaking of playing, let’s see how to get the game started…
Gameplay Review
Smile stays simple in terms of gameplay as well; you will be able to start betting in no time at all!
The game is played on a set consisting of five spinning reels and 9 paylines running across them. This is not a lot of paylines to begin with, but you can still choose to bet on less by clicking the colourful side tabs that flank the reels on both sides, or by using the (+) and (-) buttons below. Repeat the same operation for the Bet settings and you are ready to go! Use the blue Spin button to let the reels loose, or the pink Max Bet option to go all-in and activate all paylines at once.
Another possibility offered by the game is to use the Autoplay tab at the bottom right-hand corner in order to let the reels spin on their own for a predetermined number of times. It’s the perfect option if you prefer keeping a constant bet and enjoy uninterrupted fun.
What’s on the Menu?
Smile is based on a friendly universe full of yellow, outgoing smileys that can yield very sizeable cash rewards.
We begin, however, with a few classic card symbols: the Jack, Queen, Queen and King. They symbolise the lowest ranking symbols of the paytable, but also the ones you will see more frequently on the reels of Smile. Despite being at the low end of the menu, they can still yield rewards visibly higher than in other games.
The remaining symbols are all smileys: one with a thumb up, another with a broad smile, one in love… There are six basic smileys in total and the last one of them is worth 10,000 times the amount of your bet! A closer look at the paytable in the game is in order to familiarise yourself with these friendly icons, as it can be quite easy to confuse them at first glance.
More Smiley Fun
There are two last symbols that we need to review here; both are smileys and both bear some special rewards that it would be a real shame to miss!
The first one of them is the Wild card of the game, represented by a lady smiley with makeup on. She can replace any of the basic symbols mentioned earlier, therefore significantly increasing your chances to score winning combinations.
The last symbol is the Scatter, a smiley wearing sunglasses and relaxing on a sunny beach. This particular smiley can trigger rewards in the form of extra combination Multipliers. The more Scatters appear anywhere on the reels once they come to a stop, the higher the Multiplier you will get: up to x32 for five Scatters!
Smiles Better
Smile is a slot game that does not bet on its graphics or complicated gameplay. Instead, it is all about simplicity, positivity and big wins. Winning combinations pay from left to right as well as from right to left, which means that your chances to trigger a cash prize are twice as great for every activated payline as in most other games. Keep all these arguments in mind when you give Smile a try!
