Froot Loot

Froot Loot Slot Machine

Get your daily dose of fruit machine nutrition with Froot Loot – a 3-reel classic available at casinos powered by Microgaming software that serves up a cocktail of ripe and tasty fruit icons. The wins on the board look pretty delicious too, with a maximum jackpot potential that will multiply spinners' stakes by 5,000x.

Although, having said that, there is only 1 payline running over the reels, meaning that punters will need to hope that their luck is in if they are to spin any winners. What's more, this retro themed game doesn't offer anything in the way of bonus features with no wild wins, no free spins and no surprising gimmicks. It's just pure and freshly squeezed fruit spins!

Fruity spins

There are fruit machines, and then there is Froot Loot, a 3-reel classics from Migrogaming that greengrocery worth of delicious fruit icons. All of the traditional slot machine fruit symbols are present and correct, with icons depicting ripe cherries, juicy lemons, sweet oranges, plump plums and huge watermelons. The designers have also thrown in a couple of standard BAR icons of the single, double and triple variety, just to give the game that extra bit of retro edge.

Not your every day fruit machine

In actual fact, this slot machine does need that added bit of classic slot machine design because overall the aesthetic isn't as conventional as you might think. That is because, instead of keeping the game screen nice and simple with monochrome colours and basic renditions of the various fruit symbols, Froot Loot makes sure that players have something that is bright, bold and bursting with visual flavour. As such, the game screen features a cocktail of fruits scattered around a colourful title logo which itself is set over a landscape background on green rolling hills and fruit trees.

Having said that, the game's images and illustrations are still rendered in two dimensions, meaning that it isn't going to be turning too many heads in comparison to other modern slot machine titles.

Place your stakes

Spinning Froot Loot could not be simpler, with just 1 payline on the reels and a limited range of wagering options. The game's coin values range from as little as 0.25 to as much as 5.00 credits, while punters can opt to play wit 1, 2, or 3 coins with each spin. Changing the number of coins will, ostensibly, maker for more lucrative payout values as you can see in the slot machine's paytable that is presented on the main screen next to the reels themselves. Every time a player alters the number of coins, a different column of potential prizes will be highlighted, as you can see in the replicated paytable below:

So, as you can see, playing with 2 or 3 coins will apparently double and triple the value of the wins that are offered as opposed to playing with only 1 coin. However, that is not actually the case because the multiplier values shown above will only be applied to one coin, regardless of how many coins a player places as a wager. Therefore, the prize return in relation to the overall stakes that are placed is more or less the same for all winning sequences: a total bet of 5.00 credits with 1 coin worth 5.00 credits will return a win of 20.00 credits when three cherries appear on the payline.

Meanwhile, a total bet of 15.00 credits with 3 coins worth 5.00 credits will return a prize of 60 credits. Either way, the total bet has been multiplied by 4x.

The only instance in which the prize return is not the same is when players manage to line up three fruit basket icons with 3 coins wagered on the payline. That is because the jackpot multiplier prize will be worth 5,000x, which is five times the size of the multiplier payout when only 1 coin is in play.

Worth a spin?

We're not going to lie, there are absolutely loads of fruit themed retro slot machines out there on the internet, coming in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Froot Loot by Microgaming is one of the more basic fruit machines on the market, with only 3 reels and 1 payline for spinners to make those all-important wins. There are on free spins, no wild symbols and no huge progressive jackpots either. Nonetheless, this slot machine is sure to have a wide appeal with its effortlessly simple gameplay and colourful visual aspect.
