A perky, 1940s-flavored big-band tune accompanies your play, and wins are proclaimed with a loud musical flourish. Lower-valued symbols include the 9, 10, J, Q, K and A and each of these showcase one of the familiar Monopoly game pieces. One difference is that some of the pieces have been updated. For example, a flip phone, skateboard and inline skate replace older retired tokens.
Deeds and Free Parking Lead to One Big Bonus
One fun aspect of Monopoly Here and Now is the exciting frequency with which slot machine bonus games pop up. Landing three game icons that include attached Deed symbols on an active payline prompts Mr. Monopoly to upgrade one of your properties. The amount of your triggering wager determines whether you get 1 to 4 apartments, or a hotel.
Multipliers come via the Free Parking meter which runs in the upper left corner of the game. Every time Free Parking appears on the reels, one of the three jackpot figures increases. If a player then lands on Free Parking, one of three prizes is awarded.
Both the Deed and Free Parking bonuses will increase your winning when you land on three dice symbols and enter the Board Bonus game. A new screen opens and you’ll choose one of three dice to determine how many moves you get around the board. Everywhere the playing piece lands will award you something—either a new property, or an additional increase in the Free Parking jackpot.
Landing on the Free Parking space opens up a quick-paced mini-game where you race a car. The car that reaches the finish line first wins the linked jackpot.
Keep an Eye on Your Bank
Just like in the board game, you must keep a close eye on what you have left to spend and invest it wisely. Arrows permit you to click the number of lines to bet upon, from one to all twenty, and the bets are set in increments of 100. Arrow up or down to bet 100, 200, 300, 400 or 500 per line, per spin.
Take a Chance or Go to Jail
You won’t really land in prison if you neglect to play this exciting slot, but in the Bonus Game, you can easily end up there just like when playing the classic board version of Monopoly.
