Booty Time Slots
Booty Time might sound like the title of an illicit DVD, but in actuality it’s a 5-reel video slot from software developer Genesis Gaming. Booty Time – or Captain Squawk’s Booty Time to give it its full title – is an instant-play slot, meaning you don’t need to download a client to your desktop. The game is optimised for play on all good web browsers, including Chrome, Safari and Mozilla.
Treasure-seeking cut-throats adventuring on the seven seas has proven fertile ground for slot games with many pirate themed games available, but Booty Time has enough features to distinguish it from its contemporaries. The game boasts a total of 25 pay-lines (although you can play on just one, if you prefer) and includes wild/scatter symbols, a bonus game and an autoplay function.
If you want to be in with a shot of landing the booty-ful 2,500 coin-per-line-bet jackpot, set sail for this slot at your earliest convenience. Just be careful about broadcasting your fondness for Booty Time. Some folk might get the wrong idea!
Embracing Privacy
We’re sure it’ll come as no surprise to you that Booty Time is set on the deck of a pirate ship. The reels are superimposed over the ocean on a clear sailing day, and reel symbols include an earthenware jug (presumably sloshing with grog) stamped with a skull and crossbones, the eponymous Captain Squawk (he admirably fulfils the dual roles of pirate and parrot), a pelican, a treasure chest and the standard 9-through-to-Ace symbols, which have been etched on torn pirate flags.
Bagging that Booty
Players can partake in a game of Booty Time by playing for free online. Alternatively, you can stake real money in denominations of 0.01 up to 0.10 per pay-line. You can choose to wager between one and ten coins per pay-line, with the minimum bet equalling 0.01 and the maximum bet-per-spin set at 25.00.
The wilds in this game are the Booty Time logos, and these substitute for other symbols except the treasure chest scatter, which appears on reels one, three and five. Use a wild to form a winning combination and your pay-out will be doubled. Regular symbols pay left to right, except for the scatter symbols which pay anywhere, even on pay-lines that are not enabled.
The Captain Squawk symbol is the highest paying in the game – land five and you’ll net 2,500 coins. Four pays out 1,000, while three pays 250. The pelican is the next highest symbol; hit five and you’ll be awarded 1,250 coins. Five parrots pay 750 while five bottles of rum pays 500.
Booty Bonus
Landing three treasure chest scatters triggers a round of free spins. Disappointingly, this is the game’s only bonus feature And don’t expect a dozen free spins either: a piddling three is all you get, although there’s a 2x multiplier in there to sweeten the deal.
At this point, you will be asked to pick one of the gold coins flashing on the reels, and this will in turn reveal a number. On the following screen, you’ll be shown several treasure chests and you must select chests until such time as you reach the number etched on the gold coin. Treasure chests either reward you with free spins or multipliers. As far as bonus rounds go, it’s pretty basic – but you probably won’t complain if you get lucky with 25 pay-lines in play. The fact that the free spins can be prolonged is another plus.
Unlike many slots, Booty Time is not rigged with a Gamble function. You could view this as a positive (there’s no temptation to risk your hard-won jackpot) or a negative (there’s no temptation to risk your hard-won jackpot); it depends on the player. Something worth bearing in mind, in any case.
Regular or Expert?
The Booty Time video slot lets you choose from two game modes: regular and expert. There’s not much to it, though: The regular game is essentially the normal, no-frills game devoid of the AutoPlay function. If you like to use AutoPlay, select expert. If you prefer to manually spin the reels, go for regular.
Worth Squawking About?
Booty Time is hardly groundbreaking, but that’s not to say it’s a bad slot: on the contrary, it can be quite enjoyable. The graphics are nice, the guitar sound effects are pleasant and with bets ranging from 0.01 to 10.00 per pay-line, it should appeal to a number of players. Give it a try and see what you think.
