Navy Girl Slot
This video slot game by Casino Technology is a trip back to the 1960s, in the middle of the ocean on an US Navy warship. This setting is not exactly common in slot games, but it is nevertheless the premise of Navy Girl. That alone should be enough to raise your curiosity, but plenty of other interesting features in this game are also worth reviewing more thoroughly.
So stick around and read on our review of Navy Girl to find out more and leave well prepared for your next mission.
A Taste of Freedom at Sea
Being that Navy Girl takes place on a boat, it seems logical that the game is taking us to sea. The ocean is actually the only thing you will see in the background as you play: a vast expense of water under blue skies, with only a few puffy clouds at the horizon.
If the background is rather simple and dull, the music is much more interesting: a good old rock ‘n’ roll tune that would not sound off in the 1960s. A great addition to the game atmosphere, which makes it stand out more from other slot games with similar themes, this is a good thing given how WMS pretty much own the Navy slot genre with Battleship.
Getting Ready to Sail Away
Setting up your game is a straightforward process here. The settings in Navy Girl are simple: there are five reels and only 10 possible paylines running across them.
Once you have decided on a coin value, use either the side tabs that flank the reels or the switch below them to activate as many paylines as you would like. Use the switch next to it in order to set the amount of coins to bet per spin (up to 50), and you ready to sail.
Simply hit the blue Start button to get the game started. Once the reels have come to a stop, winning combinations on an activated payline will pay from left to right and trigger the corresponding cash reward. You may then use the optional Gamble function to play a mini game against the computer: guess correctly the colour of a hidden card to double your earnings, and guess its suit to quadruple them! Repeat the operation as long as you dare, while keeping in mind that a mistake will take all your new coins away.
Another way to play is to use the Autoplay feature to let the game roll for as many spins in a row as you would like. The Gamble mini game is not accessible when Autoplay is activated.
Meet the Ship’s Crew
The paytable of Navy Girl is split roughly into two groups: the classic card symbols and the ship’s crew.
Starting with the least valuable icons, we find playing card-inspired symbols ranging from number 9 to the Ace. They come in their usual colourful fonts, and there is not much more to say about them.
The ship’s crew consists of two different Sailors, followed by a picture of the ship itself, and finally two female Sailors in uniform. The crew symbols are already much more valuable than the first part of the menu, so try to line up as many of them as possible on your activated paylines!
Rewarding Special Icons
The fun is not over yet, we still have to discuss the last few symbols and what makes them extra special for Navy Girl…
The first one of them is the Captain of the ship himself. Behind his immaculate smile hides a special power: he is the Wild card of the game. This means that the Captain can replace any basic symbol and create extra winning combinations across the screen. The value of any combination containing a Captain or more is instantaneously doubled. Besides, a combination of five Captains alone is worth 10,000 times your original bet!
Lastly, the iconic Navy Girl symbol is the Scatter in our game. She can appear anywhere on the reels and trigger cash rewards regardless of alignment. From three Navy Girls, you will be awarded a Bonus of 15 Free Spins. That is 15 extra chances to win big at no cost at all!
The Tide Is High… and so Are the Stakes!
Navy Girl is a fun slot game with terrific music and an original, believable universe. Players will enjoy playing among the ship’s crew and try to collect as many Free Spins as they can, either in free to play or real money settings.
Ten paylines might not be enough for many players though, and that is perhaps one of the only drawbacks for this otherwise honest video slot game.
