Harry Trotter the Pig Wizard Slot Machine
There is more than one pun involved in this slot. A wizard with round glasses called Harry Trotter is an obvious take on the famous Harry Potter franchise. At the same time there are more pig jokes, for example a bonus round called ‘Squeal or No Squeal’. This is a very lively game, with 4 different features, a randomly appearing Wizard who will turn entire reels wild and the usual wild symbols on top. While the setup is the standard 5 reel, 20 line game which Blueprint often uses – this is a stand out title in their range, and definitely worth taking for a spin.
Graphically this is a bright and bold slot, with a sparking logo and entry video setting the scene nicely. There is a 3D animated Harry Trotter involved, and some really well produced animated sequences. The symbols are generic magic stuff, including a pointy hat, spell book and bag of gold coins. There are a lot of playing card symbols, which have been nicely embellished to make them fit with the theme. Sounds feel like they could have come from early Disney movies and only occur while the reels are spinning. There are ‘dringgg’ noises when the bonus symbol lands and more intensive musical sequences for the bonus games.
This slot is bonus game heavy, with the main games being randomly selected by a pick-em game map if you hit 3 of the bonus symbols.
Setup and Play for Harry Trotter
Behind all the magic, you will find a 5 reel video slot with 3 rows of symbol and a fixed 20 win lines. You can choose your spin amounts from 20c up to a huge $1000. There is an auto-play, which has a nice animation of purple smoke to let you select up to 50 games automatically.
The biggest single win from this game comes via the wild symbol. This is the pig-wizard himself with the word ‘wild’ beneath. 5 of these on a win line get you 1000x your bet amount, with 50x for 4, 5x for 3 and a 1/5th consolation prize for 2. This wild also substitutes for any of the regular symbols.
The badge comes next, worth 25x your bet for 5. With the gold and spells coming in at 12.5x for 5, the hat having 15x and the playing card symbols making up the smaller win amounts.
There is only one special symbol, this is the bonus symbol. This appears only on reels 1, 3 and 5 – when it does you’ll go to the magic map where your bonus will be selected.
Random On-Reel Feature
At any time during play Harry Trotter can appear at the bottom of the reels. Sometimes he will point his wand (with a lightning type effect) at the reels, turning 2 and sometimes 3 of these completely wild. Other times, he will cast a spell which changes the reels into many winning combinations. Note that this does stop the auto-play.
Harry Trotter Slot Bonus Games
When you see the map, you simply choose one of 4 circles which have ‘Bonus’ on it. You will see hoof prints going towards it, and your bonus will be revealed. There are 4 to choose from.
The most straightforward is just a cash amount. You’ll hear an ascending tune and can win some reasonably large amounts here.
Other bonus games are more involved. One of these is a take of the ‘Deal or No Deal’ TV gameshow called ‘Squeal or No Squeal’. You will see several spell books and Harry on the bottom right of the reels will ask you to choose one. This shows a win multiplier, and you have the choice to accept it, or to choose again. You get to choose 5 books in total, with the last one being your prize if you do not choose one of the earlier ones.
Magic Mirror free spins is a free spins games with extra wilds. These are chosen at the start of the bonus, and then when you see framed symbols on the reels, these will be that symbol. Since there are a lot of frames in this bonus – your wins can quickly mount up, especially if you got one of the better paying symbols assigned at the start.
The final bonus round is a board game, in which Harry moves around collecting cash multipliers (up to 10x), potions and mystery ‘crystal ball’ bonuses. There are two green potion squares on the board, which will end the game. This is an entertaining diversion from the main game, and does have the potential for some decent sized wins if you can avoid the green potions for a while.
Harry Trotter – Conclusion
For me this is a must-see slot. The combination of Blueprint’s professional production, a big dose of humour and all those different bonus games together make for an excellent game. I enjoyed the ‘Squeal or No Squeal’ feature, and Harry appearing randomly in front of the reels did lead to some outsized wins on a couple of occasions. Make sure you check out this slot for yourself soon.
