Star Bars Online Slot Machine Review
From the name of the slot you might be mistaken for thinking that it’s one about the Cadbury’s chocolate bar filled with caramel and roasted peanuts. But you’d be completely wrong! Upon starting the game you’re taken to a star filled sky and met with the words, “Not so long ago in a galaxy not so far away there was an epic film about conflict; This slot machine has nothing to do with that film…” scrolling away into the distance. Unless you’ve lived under a stone for the last thirty years you’ll understand this slot is ‘not’ about Star Wars.
Graphically this slot looks really fun. The symbols on the slot ‘don’t’ look anything like Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca or Jabba the Hut and the fact that the Storm trooper in a dress and C3PO and R2D2 with Mickey Mouse ears symbols look anything Star Wars character is I’m sure purely coincidental. The accompanying soundtrack is also somewhat familiar – a resounding uplifting song that sounds very much like the soundtrack to a film that I can’t quite remember the name of… This slot is drawn in a cool cartoon style, giving all of the symbols a real fun element, which makes for a very playable slot – this slot also has a great sense of humour which only adds to the game. 1X2 Gaming slots are mainly Flash and HTML based, which means that they can be played in the web browser of compatible iPhones, iPads, Android devices, Blackberry phones and Windows phones.
Set up and Play for Star Bars
Despite being set in a galaxy not so far away, this resembles many of the slots set here on earth, with the standard five reels. There are nine win lines, but you’ll be able to change this number to anything from 1 up to the maximum 9. You’ll then set your coin amount and the coin value which will give you the total cost for the spin.
The top paying symbol in the game is one who doesn’t resemble Darth Vader, paying out 1000x your coin amount when landing 5 in a row (to win at this slot you’ll need to land consecutive symbols from left to right on a win line). The symbols that don’t resemble Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia pay out 750x, 500x and 300x when landing 5 in a row. The other robots and creatures pay out between 80x and 20x.
There are two scatter symbols which award wins when landing three or more anywhere along a win line. These symbols are the BAR and the double BAR symbols – the top pay-outs when landing all 5 being 300x for the single BAR and 750x for the double BAR.
There are also additional wins available when landing certain combinations of heroes, sidekicks and villains on the slot. For example, should the symbols which don’t resemble Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia (heroes) all appear on a win line you’ll win 3x your coin amount.
Somewhat unusually there is no free spins round at this slot, which actually sets this slot apart a little, as they do appear at the vast majority of slots. Here, however there is an interesting feature round which is activated when landing the disco star on reel three (this symbol looks nothing like the death star at all….). This is the only reel that it will actually appear on, so if the force is with you, you might see it appear on a regular basis.
Star Bars Slot Feature Round
Having landed the disco star you are transported to the feature round, which is actually the highlight of the entire slot. You’ll head to the disco, complete with a multi-coloured dancefloor and on the dancefloor you’ll find a selection of the symbols from the game all strutting their stuff. This is actually really funny and it’s worth playing this slot simply for this moment. You’ll choose one of the characters and be awarded an instant prize before returning to your normal spins.
Star Bars Slot - Conclusion
The team at 1x2 Gaming has done a fine job here, producing a slot which really has the ability to put a smile on your face – not always an easy job. The feature, despite being somewhat simplistic is the highlight, one where you’ll grab the rest of the family or your housemates round the laptop/device to take a look. This feature alone should be enough to have you coming back. No, it’s not a slot where there are a number of features or a massive Jackpot amount, but it certainly has its charms.
