Tipos Slot Machine
Tipos is a brand-new 5-reel, 20 payline video slot. This lottery-themed casino game is all about rumbling, rolling lottery balls and the luck of the draw. Tipos is actually the name of the Slovakian national lottery, and the eponymous video slot is the result of a recent deal struck between Easit, a leading Eastern European online gaming provider, and Booming Games, the B2B software platform. Since Easit also run the Slovakian national lottery, this classic 5x3 makes a lot of sense.
Tipos – the slot game, not the Slovakian lottery – is loaded with special features, including an expanding symbol and a Double or Nothing gamble game. The cross casino-lottery game, which is available to play at home and also optimised for mobile play on the go, doesn’t force you to find six of 49 numbers, like our own UK lottery. In this slot, you just need to find matching combinations of any of the ten balls.
The Lottery Studio
Never having watched Tipos, or indeed any Slovakian shows, we can’t comment on whether the look of the game is reminiscent of the show itself. What we will say is that the reels appear against the backdrop of a bright, clean television studio. To the left of the reels stands a pretty blonde, presumably the presenter of the show, wearing a red dress. When you press the red spin button below the central column, the balls tumble from the top of the screen just like lottery balls entering the revolving drum.
Setting the Bet
It’s a cool concept – lottery balls rather than square-shaped symbols – but apart from that, this game conforms to staples of the five-reel market. It both looks and feels identical. Along the bottom of the screen you can set your bet-per-line (as per almost all Booming Games like Merry Spinning for example, it goes from 0.3 to 3), number of paylines (from 1 to 20) and also trigger Autoplay. There’s a Win tab, helpful if you want to keep check of your winnings, and buttons for Gamble and Max Bet. Along the top of the screen, you can view your running balance, current bet and also access settings. Click on the ‘i’ button to view the paylines.
The Pay-Table
In a regular lottery, all the balls are equal: you just have to find the six printed on your ticket. In Tipos, though, each of the balls is related to a different figure in the pay-table. At maximum bet, some of these balls yield some very handsome pay-outs.
The lowest-paying balls on the board are the playing card ones. There are no suits here, just numbers and letters printed on the centre of varicoloured balls. You are hoping to match combinations of three, four or five balls. For five 8/9 you will win 240, for five 10/J 300 and for five Q/K you’ll nab 600. The pay-out for the ace in the hole is 900.
There isn’t a lot to the symbols, in truth. There is, however, both a wild and a scatter. The black and yellow ball is wild, substituting for all symbols except the scatter to assist in pay wins. It also pays 15,000 for five, 3,000 for four and 300 for three. It even pays 15 for two.
The scatter is the blue ball, complete with red shield. It pays 6,000 for five, 1,500 for four and 300 for three. It also triggers ten free spins: just unearth three of the blue balls anywhere on the reels.
Like other Booming Games slots, there’s a bonus in the form of an expanding symbol during the free spins. Just hit stop to select which ball will be the expanding icon for the duration of the round. After each spin, regular winnings are counted. Then, if the expanding symbol appears three or more times, it will expand vertically over the entire reel and winnings are re-counted along all the active paylines.
Gambling your Winnings
After any win, you can hit Gamble to play a Double or Nothing round. You can gamble up to ten times in a row, or until your winnings total 10,000. You can also return to the slot at any time by hitting Collect. For security reasons, all games automatically log you out after ten minutes of inactivity.
Playing the Lottery
Tipos is a decent video slot that will mostly appeal to lottery lovers and Keno players, though the inclusion of a wild, a scatter and an expanding symbol helps keep things interesting.
