Red Hot Fruits Slots
This slot by Blueprint has got the word classic written all over it. From the very first spin you’ll see the cherries, the melons, the BARs and many other symbols seen at traditional slots over the years, harking back to a time when you’d operate the slot with a handle. The fact that this is a three reel slot is a nod to the classic too, standing out in an online casino industry that is jam packed with five reel slots. However, despite the game having the vintage look, the gameplay is certainly original – with the ‘repeater’ aspect of the game being a nice twist when playing.
The slot certainly has a colourful feel, with a flaming orange and red background to the reels. The three reels take up much of the screen, these looking exactly like they would on a mechanical machine, with shadows showing the curvature of the white reels. Graphically the game is exactly what you would expect from a ‘classic’ slot – you’ll not find any amazing graphics or animation here, but you wouldn’t expect to, the symbols looking exactly as they would have appeared at any time over the last century. The accompanying sound is the clicking and whirring of the reels – basic but effective.
Please note that the game below, Red Hot Fruits, seems to have replaced the once popular Red Hot Fruits. Both games are quite similiar, so hopefully you'll enjoy playing this one just as much as the other!
Setup and Play for Red Hot Fruits
This three reel slot has five win lines. The first three win lines are the middle, top and bottom horizontal lines, while the final two are the diagonals from top left to bottom right and the opposite line. Before hitting spin the only choice you’ll make is the size of the total stake for each spin.
To achieve a win at this slot you’ll need to land three consecutive symbols on one of the win lines. The top paying symbol is the diamond one (one of the only two non ‘classic’ symbols found at this slot) and if playing for the max bet size, you’ll win £500. This is by far the biggest win available and is ten times larger than any other. The sevens come next at £50, while the BARs pay £20. All of the other classic symbols (oranges, lemons, melons and cherries) pay between £6 and £8, while the final symbol is a small blue gem which pays just £1.
All of the symbols on the reels are stacked, which means that when you do gain a win, there will be a very good chance that you might gain more than one – in fact on occasions the entire slot will feature just one symbol, meaning that all five win lines will pay out on just one spin.
Every time you achieve a win you’ll have the opportunity of gambling that win. You’ll be taken to a separate screen featuring four reels, each with a different gamble. You can choose to try and double up at the 2x reel, or go higher and gamble at the 3x, 5x or 10x reels. This is certainly a good option – how much gamble do you have in you?
Somewhat unusually, this slot doesn’t feature a wild symbol, one of the very few online slots that doesn’t – but this is more than made up for by the ‘Red Hot Fruits’ feature.
Red Hot Fruits Feature
Every time one of the stacked symbols fills up an entire reel, these symbols will now be transported to the smaller reels at the top of the screen – moving onto the appropriate reels for each symbol. Should you fill the entire set of reels, the ‘Red Hot Fruits’ comes into play. This is ‘wheel of Fortune’ style wheel, where the majority of (green) segments will say repeat, with just one (red) segment with the word ‘stop’. If you keep landing on one of the green slots, the round will continue – just try and avoid the red one!
Red Hot Fruits Conclusion
Having played many three reel slots in my time, it would be fair to say that I am not a particular fan in general, their younger five reel cousins normally offering a much more entertaining experience. However, this 3 reel slot by Blueprint Gaming is actually something of a match. Yes, the standard gameplay isn’t the most interesting you’ll find online, but the ‘Red Hot Fruits’ aspect to the game gives you something to aim for, keeping the interest levels high. Having landed the feature it can be somewhat valuable too. If you do fancy changing it up and playing a 3 reel game, you could certainly do worse than this one!
